DID Alliance Korea holds a DID Seminar for Global DID Specialists

- DID Alliance aims to build up DID Ecosystem, led by Korea and US

- The Alliance set its goal to standardize Global DID Technologies

 

DID Alliance Korea(“the Alliance”) announced today that it will hold ‘DID Alliance Korea 2019’ at the Grand Hall located on the 7th Floor of EL Tower in Seoul on October 22nd, 2019. As a first step of the Alliance to become an organization to standardize DID, it aims to expand the domestic and global awareness of DID.


On the theme of ‘Own Your Identity in the Digital World’, the seminar will cover the overall trend analysis, prospects, and industrial vitalizations with the opinion leaders and influencers of the relevant DID area. Along with the conference, DID Alliance Korea will conduct an opening ceremony and related events for sharing the business plans and its road map.


The following speakers will present on the advanced technologies and use cases of DID: Yeong Rin Kim (Chairman of DID Alliance Korea, Founder of Financial Security Institute), Dr. Ho Hyeorn Han (Vice-Chairman of DID Alliance Korea, Director of Korea PKI Forum), Ramesh Kesanupalli (Founder of FIDO Alliance, an association for online biometric authentication technologies with numerous major IT companies), Tae Jin Kim (CTO of Raonsecure), Phillip J. Windley (Chairman of Sovrin, a foundation for building global identification system with around 60 global IT companies and financial institutes) and the managers of Korea Military Manpower Administration and Deutsche Bank.


In addition, there will be a demonstration of the blockchain service with decentralized Identity in a special booth.


According to the Alliance, around 20 major companies have joined, including Nonghyup Bank, Shinhan Bank, Kwangju Bank, Jeonbuk Bank, Hyundai Card, KB Kookmin Card, Samsung Card, Lotte Card, Korea Investment & Securities Co., Ltd., Military Mutual Aid Association, NICE Information Service, Shinhan DS, Digitalzone, Planetdigital, DEOTIS, Markany, Finger and TMONET. The number of members is expected to increase to 100 by the end of this year.


Yeong Rin Kim, Chairman of DID Alliance Korea said, “DID Alliance Korea will strive to provide social, economic and technical support to enhance global cooperation network for spreading the adoption of DID.” Kim added, “By building a secure identification ecosystem with our partners, the Alliance will play an active role in contributing to the development of digital industry."
